MICHAEL OSODE (CFC)

Michael Osode graduated with honours from the University of Benin with a BSc. in Business Administration (1989), an MBA from Bayero University Kano (2000) and was later awarded an Advanced Diploma in Financial Consulting (ADip.) from the Institute of Financial Consultants, Canada (2002). Also, he is an alumnus of Federal Government College Minna, where he graduated as one of the top students with 5 Alphas.

Commencing his banking career in 1992, he has over 18 years of local (Intercity Bank – now Unity Bank Plc), regional (Ecobank Nigeria Plc, where he rose to become the Head SME – FCT/North) and international banking experience (Standard Chartered Bank – where he rose to become the pioneer Head of Credit Operations in Nigeria and the youngest member of Credit Policy & Portfolio Review Committee – the bank’s highest credit decision making body, in-country). He has been involved in various high profile transactions in the solid minerals and Oil & Gas sector. He was directly responsible for training a number of new intakes at Ecobank, a number of whom have become Branch Managers and award winners (He also won various awards and commendations while at Ecobank, inclusive of the prestigious “Most Valuable Officer Award, Abuja/Northern Zone” in 2006).

He left the banking sector in 2010 to pursue his financial consulting career. Also, he is a Board Member of Mican Consulting Services Limited, Miltec Resources and GreatOcean Energy Ltd. Michael is a seasoned financial consultant with vast experience in credit training, transaction dynamics structuring, executive mentoring and financial scenario simulation/planning/analysis. He has built strong relationships with key decision makers and high net-worth customers in the financial sector over time.

As a Financial Consultant, he was the Business Adviser to NN24 Television from initial concept, strategy, and scenario planning/funding to initial launching (over N1.2 Billion raised by NN24 in venture funding). He acted as Financial Consultant to MindKraft Solutions to prepare a feasibility study and transaction dynamics scenario planning on their N2.7 Billion student hostel project. He is a Strategy Consultant to Liquid-Waves Ltd on repositioning them as a prime haulage and oil company. Also, he is the Financial Adviser to His Excellency, Dr Wallace Williams – Consul of the Republic of Antigua & Barbuda, on their Government-to-Government (G-to-G) crude oil lifting transaction being proposed with the Nigerian government. He has previously advised various young oil & gas companies through the Nigerian strategic/financial maze, some of whom are now global payers with yearly turnover in excess of $500 million.
